TM Kimura Shines at the District 93 Korean Speech Contest!
On May 17th, TM Kimura demonstrated outstanding linguistic and public speaking skills at the District 93 Korean Speech Contest in South Korea.
Fluent in both English and Korean, she not only reached the national stage but also supports the establishment of a Japanese-language club in South Korea. Her achievement showcases her dedication, perseverance, and ability to excel beyond linguistic boundaries.
We look forward to hearing TM Kimura’s inspiring journey—the challenges she overcame, the lessons learned, and the experience of standing on South Korea’s national stage.
Kobe International Fair 2025: Our Experience
On May 24 and 25, the Kansai Toastmasters Club proudly participated in the Kobe International Fair 2025, an event cherished for 24 years before its suspension due to COVID-19. This year, marking the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the fair made its long-awaited return, fostering global connections and multicultural exchange.
Our expertise in speech and event management was on full display during the Multicultural Exchange Speech Contest on the first day. Utilizing Toastmasters' leadership and public speaking skills, we helped ensure a smooth and engaging program. Club member TM Yuki took the stage as the MC, creating an atmosphere that encouraged meaningful dialogue and cultural understanding.
On the second day, the choir performed Shiawase Hakoberu Youni, a song composed after the earthquake and embraced as a symbol of recovery not only in Kobe but also across Japan and the world. The performance moved the audience and reminded everyone of the resilience and unity that transcend borders, bringing a powerful message of hope.
Through this event, we reaffirmed the impact of strong communication and leadership in promoting multicultural coexistence. The Kansai Toastmasters Club continues to empower individuals to speak with confidence, lead with purpose, and inspire change.
If you're looking to enhance your English communication skills, build confidence in public speaking, and connect with a diverse community, we are here to support you. Join us—we grow, learn, and lead together! You can contact us from here.

Report from the June Regular Meeting
We completed the 822nd regular meeting on June 15th and here is the photo and comment from the General Evaluator.
The final meeting of the Toastmaster year really felt like a chance to put everything we’ve learned into action. Although we had a small group and a few unexpected surprises, everyone stayed calm, flexible, and focused. Thanks to that team spirit, the meeting ran smoothly.
We also touched on some great, timely topics—like Father’s Day and the excitement surrounding the Osaka Expo. One standout moment was when a member brought in an original Expo '70 ticket, which had only cost 800 yen- I wonder how much that would be in today’s money. Those who were at the venue got to see a cool little piece of history up close.
Table Topics brought lots of laughs with its fun and creative questions. It was the perfect warm-up for the speeches that followed. We enjoyed three totally different speech styles, and the evaluations added even more depth to the learning. I found it really interesting to compare what I noticed with what the evaluators pointed out—such a great way to grow.
To wrap it all up, we held the officer installation ceremony for the new term. Big thanks to our outgoing officers for all their hard work this year!
